Portfolio Manager - Revenue Cycle Systems
**JOB SUMMARY** **Hybrid role - must live in a Baylor Scott & White service area (DFW, Temple, Waco, Austin, College Station regions)** Under the direction of the BSWH System Director of Revenue Cycle Services, the Manager of Revenue Cycle Systems – Portfolio manages and oversees the relationship and performance of all key Revenue Cycle vendors. This individual will manage vendors across 3 separate pillars (Net Revenue, Cost Improvement, and Patient Experience) to help achieve BSWH’s experiential and financial goals. This individual will lead a small, dynamic team to address the multitude of vendors in this area to both keep current vendors accountable to their performance measures as well as researching future opportunities for additional technology to better service BSWH. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE** + Directs and oversees system maintenance for existing revenue cycle applications + Direct leadership and relationships with all areas of the Revenue Cycle. These areas of focus are front end (access services, charity, patient estimates, etc), middle (HIM/coding, billing, charge capture, insurance discovery, etc), and back end (appeals/denials, collections, bankruptcy, estate, etc). + Leads a small dynamic team of Portfolio analysts to ensure full accountability measures are in place for all existing Revenue Cycle vendors + Monitors and reports overall performance of revenue cycle vendors and projects on a regular basis + Works closely with Revenue Cycle Improvement and Revenue Cycle Information Services ensuring that current systems/technologies/workflows achieve optimal performance and functionality within overall enterprise portfolio. + Research new systems and technologies that are available in the marketplace and provides recommendations for these new systems on the basis of improving operational efficiencies, cost savings, and/or expense reductions. + Investigates and resolves complex problems and coordinates efforts to provide innovative strategies and solutions. + Prepares and submits project presentations to Revenue Cycle Leadership, including the Vice President -Revenue Cycle. + Participate on special revenue cycle projects (application strategy, operational process standardizations, and compliance initiatives). + Manages workload and projects to meet committed timeframes, quality guidelines, and operations expectations. **KEY SUCCESS FACTORS** + Understanding of revenue cycle operations to include, but not limited to, systems, scheduling/registration, billing, collections, payment/adjustment posting, credit balance/refunds, statements, bad debt write offs, collections processes and reporting + Understanding of operational use of applications supported + Ability to adapt systems to enhance operations/work flows + Ability to document workflows and modify/update workflows when changes and improvements are made + Ability to develop financial models to support valuation (https://corporatefinanceinstitute.com/valuation-methods) , budgeting/planning, and forecasting + Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs and Tools + Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with employees at all levels within the organization + Strong time management and organization skills + Ability to manage multiple projects and implementations at the same time + Present updates and current status of projects/implementations/initiatives timely to management + Self-directed + Function as a contributing and effective team member + Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and initiatives + Ability to cope with stress and pressure **BENEFITS** Our competitive benefits package includes the following + Immediate eligibility for health and welfare benefits + 401(k) savings plan with dollar-for-dollar match up to 5% + Tuition Reimbursement + PTO accrual beginning Day 1 Note: Benefits may vary based upon position type and/or level **QUALIFICATIONS** + EDUCATION - Bachelor's + EXPERIENCE - 5 Years of Experience As a health care system committed to improving the health of those we serve, we are asking our employees to model the same behaviours that we promote to our patients.
