Global Travel Retail is a strategic channel that follows our consumers whenever and wherever they travel. Portfolio and Strategy Manager GTR

 

The Portfolio and Strategy Manager for Global Travel Retail will work closely with the Head of Portfolio & Strategy to define the portfolio direction for assigned brands and geographies, aligning with HQ Brand Groups' guidelines. You will develop strategies to enhance profitability, increase volume and market share, and identify growth opportunities through portfolio and pricing initiatives.

 

The role involves leading portfolio-related projects, analyzing market trends, and presenting recommendations to the Management Team. You will oversee new product and brand launches, ensuring timely execution across all stakeholders, while tracking brand and SKU performance to optimize the portfolio and recommend the delisting of underperforming items. Additionally, you will maintain accurate SKU data in forecasting systems and support trade, pricing, and resource allocation strategies in coordination with various teams, including Consumer & Trade Marketing, Logistics, Sales Planning, R&D, and market operations.

 

Position:

 

The portfolio and Strategy Manager will:

 

Responsible for setting the global strategy for all product categories, portfolio direction, and launch pricing for JTI brands across assigned regions and markets Responsible for setting GTR strategic goals into consumer-centric initiatives, including new product launches (RMC, OTP, RRP), brand introductions, and portfolio optimization Work closely with stakeholders like domestic markets, TR Sales, Marketing, and SI to analyze industry trends, understand consumer preferences, and identify opportunities for new launches or product line expansions. Lead the NPD/DER process by spotting gaps, creating and aligning proposals with sales teams, preparing business cases, and presenting recommendations to the Management Team. Ensure recommendations are informed by nationality classifications, market trends, and global strategies Work in close collaboration with the respective Travel Retail M&S Operations and Marketing Activation groups as well as managers of Brand Equity, Finance Team, and Strategic Insights to ensure alignment and integration of activities. Continue to use and improve the "Execution Excellence" Procedures already in place Optimize the portfolio by monitoring performance and taking corrective actions as needed Develop and coordinate new product and brand launch plans with stakeholders to ensure timely market presence, managing packaging, product development, and project budgets Manage BAP/MEMO and product/packaging processes for assigned geographies and brands to maintain accurate SKU data in forecasting systems as the GTR PLM Expert Ensure smooth NPD processes, manage NTM write-offs, and track portfolio accuracy for all customers Support brand portfolio and trade strategy implementation and contribute to the annual and strategic planning process Align GTR Brand Strategies with JTI HQ relevant Brand Groups, and collaborate with Corporate Affairs, SRA, and Legal to address regulatory changes in assigned regions

Requirements:
 

University degree preferably in Marketing, MBA, or equivalent educational background will be an advantage 5 years of relevant experience in FMCG marketing Sales experience will be an added advantage; both global & regional (in-market) experience (desirable) Fluency in the English language both written and verbal Good knowledge of strategic planning (Brand & Portfolio management, pricing, P&L) Commercial and business understanding of FMCG or Tobacco Industry Consumer marketing knowledge New product launches/development including PLM Brand communication (ATL / BTL) Good communication skills, analytical and strategic thinking
