POS Software Engineer I

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The POS Software Engineer will be responsible for detailed technical design and development of applications using existing and emerging technology. The POS Software Engineer will own end-to-end delivery of software components from inception to production.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop, test and integrate code for POS functionality in accordance with development standards, as well as provide maintenance support to existing software systems and/or applications.
2. Participate in the analysis, system design and documentation of software requirements and specifications to ensure application accuracy, performance and maintainability.
3. Implement functional requirements within the Point of Sale (POS) that enables business initiatives.
4. Manage your own workload effectively and coordinate application development projects by interfacing with various internal parties. Manage and coordinate application development projects with third party vendors or contractors as required.
5. Work with the Quality Assurance team to troubleshoot and debug software issues to ensure optimal performance.
6. Work with Change and Release management teams to deploy software code to production environments.
7. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
8. Learn new applications as required to provide operational support as new systems are implemented or developed.
9. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies and standards to continuously improve our software.
10. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 0-2 years of experience in software development, preferably in POS systems.
