Position Control Analyst - Financial Planning and Analysis - Dashboard

 

Role Mission:

As a Position Control Analyst at IDEA Public Schools, you will be responsible for analyzing, optimizing, and maintaining our dashboard systems. Your primary focus will be on improving data accuracy, efficiency, and usability, ensuring that our organization has access to reliable information for informed decision-making. This role combines technical expertise with a deep understanding of educational processes and a passion for continuous improvement.

 

Location:

This is a full-time remote position based in Texas with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or who are willing to relocate.

 

Travel Expectations:    

• Up to 30% of the time during the busiest parts of the year 

 

What You’ll Do – Accountabilities

 

Essential Duties:

Dashboard Analysis
 

Evaluate the existing dashboard systems to identify areas for improvement.Conduct data quality assessments and address any discrepancies or anomalies.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and requirements. 

Process Optimization
 

Develop and implement strategies to streamline data collection, processing, and reporting workflows.Own the improvement of dashboard workflows by identifying bottlenecks, implementing automation where possible, and optimizing reporting speed
Implement best practices for data visualization and reporting.

Data Integrity
 

Establish data validation procedures to ensure the accuracy and consistency of dashboard data.Audit data sources and proactively address data quality issues.
Prepare compensation cost scenariosAssist with the position control rollover process from year to yearCreate and maintain the Financial Planning Master Rosters for the current year and next yearCreate and maintain documentation related to data sources and processes. 

 

Dashboard Development
 

Collaborate with data engineers and developers to build and enhance dashboards using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.Design intuitive and user-friendly dashboards that provide actionable insights to end-users. 

Training and Support
 

Provide training and support to end-users to maximize the utilization of dashboards.
Assist in troubleshooting dashboard-related issues and resolving them promptly. 

Continuous Improvement
 

Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in data analytics and dashboard development.Proactively identify opportunities for enhancements and propose innovative solutions. 

 

 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

Create and manage the position control ZenDesk analyticsCreate reports on all position control data requestsServer as a backup to the Jobvite process

Required experience:

Science: Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).Proven experience in data analysis, dashboard development, or process improvement.Proficiency in data visualization tools as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.

Preferred experience:

Master's degree preferred.Experience with SQL, Python, or other data manipulation languages is a plus

Compensation & Benefits:

Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $63,400 and $73,300, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
