The Department of Medicine, Division of Endo-Diabetes has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Post-Doctoral Associates to work on the UHealth Campus. The Post-Doctoral Associate performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. Moreover, the Post Doctoral Associate promotes institutional recognition through literal contributions to the scientific community.
Investigate the molecular and cellular biology of how insulin producing cells grow and die and how they adapt to diabetogenic conditions.
Islet culture and maintenance, mouse colony maintenance, dissection and physiological experiments with rodents.
Set-up instruments, material, apparatus and operate laboratory equipment required for specific assays.
Perform a variety of complex technical duties involved in conducting physical, chemical, biological and other research laboratory tests.
Designing, performing, and analyzing experiments in collaboration with Dr. Ernest Bernal-Mizrachi.
Reviewing relevant scientific literature; preparing written reports of experimental results and keeping detailed laboratory books.
Record and document the collected data and perform analyses by employing provided analytical tools. Prepare manuscripts for publication.
Contribute to decisions on experimental approaches, data analysis strategies and publication strategies.
Weekly implementation of projections, in consultation with Dr. Ernest Bernal-Mizrachi
Assist in solving problems related to equipment and data analysis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
MD or Ph.D. in relevant field
No prior experience required
Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
Strong scientific background in cell biology and diabetes.
Excellent communication skills and publication records.
Must be able to work in a highly collaborative manner.
