Post Doctoral Associate
Job Description:The Just and Green Transportation Lab in the Civil Engineering Department at the University of Florida is looking for an energetic postdoc scholar to join the lab in Summer or Fall 2025. In this position, you will work on projects related to AI and big applications in public transit and sustainable transportation systems (e.g., bicycles, EVs, and shared mobility), funded by NSF and USDOT. You are encouraged to propose your own research ideas that fit into the lab’s mission.
In this role, you are expected to conduct independent research, supervise graduate and undergraduate students, contribute to teaching and research proposals, and perform project management.
The ideal candidate should have solid data analysis and programming (e.g., Python/R) skills and a strong background in statistical learning (statistics/econometrics or machine learning/AI). We welcome applicants from various educational backgrounds, including but not limited to, civil/transportation engineering, geography, computer science, statistics, and urban planning. The position offers a competitive salary and benefits. The initial contract is a one-year appointment, renewable on an annual basis.

Our mission centers on the innovative and thoughtful application of data science and artificial intelligence to make transportation more equitable and sustainable. Bridging urban planning, data science, and transportation engineering, we take an interdisciplinary approach to transportation research that connects technological innovations with community needs. We work closely with public agencies and industry partners to develop intelligent decision-support tools that can help them better plan for and manage public transit systems and new mobility services (e.g., ridesharing, bike-sharing, and electric vehicles).

Expected Salary:$60,000-$65,000 commensurate with experience
