Post-Doctoral Associate
Job Description:The Bai lab is seeking a highly motivated and creative postdoctoral fellow to join our research group. As a postdoctoral fellow, the candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to exciting projects centered around modeling human diseases in the nematode model Caenorhabditis elegans. Our current research endeavors primarily focus on unraveling the intricacies of disease genes associated with lipid droplet, lipid metabolism, development, germline development, and mechanotransduction.
Qualified postdoctoral candidates must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in genetics, cell biology, developmental biology, bioinformatics, or a related field. Proficiency in genetics, live imaging, imaging analysis, molecular biology techniques, and experience in utilizing CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing methodologies is highly desirable. Prior experience working with C. elegans will be considered favorably. A strong publication record demonstrating research productivity and showcasing the ability to independently design and conduct experiments is essential. The position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate research findings and collaborate with colleagues. This position will be initially awarded for one year and contingent upon strong performance and conduct and availability of funds, may be renewed for up to three years.
