The Cardiac Neuroscience laboratory of the Department of Kinesiology and Health, located at the Center of Alcohol Studies on the Busch Campus of Rutgers University – New Brunswick conducts substance use research that integrates the conceptual models and methods of psychology, neuroscience, physiology, and advanced quantitative strategies. Our research focuses on cardiovascular signaling to understand the relationships between alcohol and other drug use behaviors, cognition, emotional regulation, and brain activity. This position focuses on psychophysiological methods to study how awareness of internal bodily states integrates with emotion regulation, cognition, mental and physical health, and behavioral flexibility towards alcohol and drugs. The post-doctoral associate will work collaboratively with physiologists, psychologists, and neuroscientists to model psychophysiological processes that support adaptive behavior.
