The Center for Vaccine Development is a collaborative, multidisciplinary environmentengaged in research on infectious diseases and design/testing of vaccines against pathogens of global health relevance. Researchers activities span from basic laboratory research to vaccine development, pre-clinical and clinical evaluation, large-scale pre-licensure field studies, and post-licensure assessments.Training is a critical component of the CVD mission to provide a solid foundation for the next generation of scientists and researchers committed to global health initiatives. The Malaria Research Lab in the Center for Vaccine Development is seeking a qualifiedPostdoctoralFellow to conductresearch on the functional relevance of malaria vaccine candidates, and theimpact of prenatal exposure to pathogens on early life immune responses._Funding is available for up to two years starting in January 2025._ */Qualifications/* The ideal candidate would possess advanced skills in immunological assays, handling of clinical specimens and datasets from malaria endemic sites, project management, and expertise in either malaria immunology, microbiology, or biology. We are looking for someone with an interest in the immune response to malaria, the cellular immunity in neonates and infants, and a willingness to work in the field in diverse international research settings. This position would provide opportunities to learn the novel spectral flow cytometry approach, malaria vaccine candidates screening, and gain experience working in international public health research in the field. *Education*: PhD immunology, microbiology, biology, or related fields *Experience:* ***Preferred Experience:*Demonstrated experience in flow cytometry and ELISA, phagocytosis and complement fixation assays, T cell activation, cellular cytotoxicity, and inhibition of liver stage assays, isolating and maintaining monocytes and neutrophils. In addition, the candidate should be able to use R, Python, FlowJo, GraphPad Prism, and Bio-Plex Manager software.
