Summary:

Cook Children’s Medical Center’s MIND Institute offers a full-time postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psychological assessment. This is an independent post-doctoral fellowship training site. Traditionally, this is a 40 hour-a-week position with a full day devoted to report-writing.  Fellows are responsible for 20 billable hours of clinical service a week.  Fellows are expected to complete comprehensive outpatient psychological evaluations with a range of patient populations, including children and adolescents with a multitude of medical diagnoses and neurodevelopmental disorders. Fellows will consult with psychiatry, psychology, neurology, and developmental pediatrics clinicians. Additionally, fellows are expected to provide comprehensive feedback to families as well as assist in case management when appropriate. Supervision requirements for licensure are fully achieved.

Qualifications: 

Ph.D. or Psy.D in Psychology from an APA-accredited clinical psychology training program. Will also consider individuals in counseling and school psychology programs

Training in child growth and development required

Prior experience in pediatric setting preferred

Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a desire to develop outstanding leadership skills

Demonstrate commitment to high standards of patient care and customer relations practice

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification: 

Texas Provisionally Licensed Psychologist desired but not required

Must have educational background and training to function in the capacity of a psychological extender of services under the supervision of a Licensed Psychologist as defined by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists
