Postdoctoral Appointee: Microelectronics (Heterointegration, 2D Materials)

The Nanoscience and Technology Division (NST) at Argonne National Lab (ANL) is looking for experimental postdoctoral candidate in the area of heterointegration of 2D/3D materials for developing energy efficient devices. The postdoctoral candidate will be a part of highly collaborative research team focusing on integration of 2D materials with ultrawide bandgap semiconductor materials such as diamond, SiC and GaN.
The candidate is expected to work on developing 2D materials transfer process on bulk materials and fabrication of devices in the cleanroom to study its electrical performance. The studies will also involve detail characterization of the interface using various spectroscopy and microscopy techniques as well as working closely with simulation and theory experts.
**Position Requirements**
+ A Ph.D. in electrical engineering, applied physics, physics, or related field. Must have been received within the last 5 years or upcoming year
+ Normal daytime work hours at the Argonne site, but occasional travel and some overtime/night-time may be required.
+ Ability to work independently with minimal direction in day-to-day research tasks
+ Ability to model Argonne's core values of impact, safety, respect, integrity, and teamwork.
Considerable:
+ Experience in Micro/nanofabrication of 2D materials-based devices in the cleanroom with standard nanofabrication process flow, and transport measurements.
+ Good background in device physics with excellent written and oral communication skills.
+ Collaboration skills and the ability to work with a team in an interdisciplinary environment.
Desirable:
+ Experience in Raman spectroscopy and other standard characterization tools including SEM/EDS, XPS, XRD etc.
+ Some experience in COMSOL simulations of devices
+ Experience with using Diamond CVD system for diamond growth will be a plus

The expected hiring range for this position is $70,758.00 - $110,379.55.
