The Yan Lab is hiring a Postdoctoral Associate to work on an NIH-funded project involving mitochondrial biology and Alzheimer’s disease. The applicant will contribute to molecular studies in animal models seeking to determine the role of mitophagy in skeletal muscle, heart, and brain. The specific work involves the characterization of our newly generated AMPK knock-in and mitoAIP mice, which includes the assessments of cognitive function, skeletal muscle and heart function, mitophagy, mitochondrial morphology/function, transcriptional and post-translational controls. The candidate will work with a multi-disciplinary team of investigators, including exercise physiologists, molecular biologists, and neurobiologists. The candidate is expected to take a leadership role on AMPK and mitophagy project through presentations, drafting of manuscripts, and mentorship of students involved in the project.
