This position focuses on advancing research in the field of cell-based therapeutic devices in response to the ARPA-H REACT (https://arpa-h.gov/research-and-funding/programs/react) . The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects (https://newsnetwork.mayoclinic.org/discussion/mayo-clinic-secures-arpa-h-award-to-build-a-living-pharmacy-within-the-body-for-inflammatory-disease/) with a multidisciplinary team that aims to develop innovative technologies at the intersection of these disciplines. We seek a dedicated researcher with a strong background in microfabrication, electrochemistry, bioelectronics, flexible device engineering, and cell-therapeutic technologies. The candidate will be involved in the design, fabrication, and testing of novel bioelectronic devices for various biomedical and environmental applications. The role will include both independent research and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals. Key Responsibilities: + Conduct microfabrication of devices using advanced techniques such as photolithography, etching, deposition, and lift-off processes. + Design and develop flexible electronic devices for bioelectronic applications. + Perform electrochemical characterization and optimization of device performance. + Assess the physical, chemical, and biological properties of the device and reliability of the functional devices + Collaborate with other researchers and contribute to developing innovative solutions in implantable bioelectronics and cell-assisted biodevices. + Analyze experimental data, prepare technical reports, and present findings at conferences and seminars. + Assist in writing research proposals and publications. Job Requirements: + Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. + Extensive experience (1-3 years) in microfabrication techniques and processes. + Experience with cleanroom environments and hands-on device fabrication. + Strong background in electrochemistry and electrochemical analysis methods. + Demonstrated experience in developing and characterizing bioelectronic devices and implantable electronics. + Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a collaborative research environment. + Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred: + Experience with software/tools like SOLIDWORKS, AUTOCAD, PYTHON, COMSOL, and data analysis packages. + Knowledge of biocompatible materials and their application in flexible devices. + Experience in cell study and biological assessments. + Proven track record of publications in high-impact journals. Additional Information: Salary: $62,000 Annually. Note: This is a 1 year grant funded position, with the possibility of extension based on additional funding.
