Postdoctoral Fellow – Beta-Cell Regeneration in Diabetes

The Baumel-Alterzon Lab in the Arthur Riggs Diabetes & Metabolism Research Institute, within the Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope, is looking for a highly motivated and team-science minded Postdoctoral Fellow.

 

As a successful candidate, you will:

Study the importance of redox regulation in the expansion and differentiation of pancreatic beta-cells, aiming to identify therapeutic targets for beta-cell regeneration in diabetes. Research diabetic mouse models, primary islets, and stem cell-derived islets, utilizing techniques such as fluorescence microscopy, proteomics, RNAseq, CRISPR-Cas9, and animal model characterization. Be exposed to cutting-edge science and collaboration with world-class clinical and research faculty.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

A Ph.D. in life sciences, biomedical sciences, or a related discipline is required. Prior experience with animal work and molecular biology is essential, and experience in proteomics is a plus.
