The Center for Community Environment and Health (CCEH) is seeking candidates interested in studying how the social, socioeconomic, built, and natural environments impact human health. The CCEH is in Geisinger’s Department of Population Health Sciences, a department embedded in the Geisinger health system, a large integrated health system with a longstanding commitment to research. The CCEH has a diverse research portfolio funded by the NIH, CDC, and industry. This position provides opportunity for growth and development as an independent investigator. The fellow will conduct specific research projects under the supervision of staff scientists or Research Faculty members and contribute intellectual and technical support to research programs and initiatives. The fellow will have access Geisinger’s unique data assets, including the longitudinal electronic health record data, claims data, genetic, and environmental data.
Job Duties Conducts research related to CCEH projects and initiatives.Gathers, summarizes, records and interprets data obtained from research projects and initiatives.Plans subsequent work with review and approval of principal scientist and investigator.Develops research protocols.May instruct others in area of expertise.Prepares and submits scholarly manuscripts.May present research results at internal and external scientific venues.Interprets and follow policies and guidelines to define procedures and meet goals and deadlines.Contributes to grant writing.
