The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and independent Postdoctoral Fellow to join the laboratory of Dr. Zora Modrusan in the department of Proteomic and Genomic Technologies at Genentech. This position offers a unique opportunity to be co-mentored by Dr. Domagoj Vucic from the Immunology Discovery department. Learn more about our mentors: Dr. Modrusan and Dr. Vucic.

Project Focus

Dive into the intricate world of cellular and molecular signatures in monogenic immune disorders, particularly those affecting inflammatory signaling pathways such as NF-kB and ubiquitination. Utilize groundbreaking techniques like cellular phenotyping, single-cell molecular profiling, and inflammatory signaling analysis to unravel immune cell dysfunctions. Our goal is to advance the understanding of immune disorders, ultimately leading to the development of novel therapeutic approaches.

The Opportunity

Comprehensive Analysis: Engage in detailed genomic and functional analyses of patient samples to characterize disorders impacting inflammatory signaling mediators.

Innovative Techniques: Employ cutting-edge methods such as cellular phenotyping, single-cell RNA-sequencing (scRNA-seq), and mutational profiling to explore cellular heterogeneity and identify genetic alterations in immune cell dysfunction.

CRISPR Engineering: Develop CRISPR-engineered cell lines to model specific mutations and evaluate potential therapeutic interventions.

Research Environment: Be a part of an innovative research setting dedicated to understanding immune disorders and crafting potential therapeutic strategies.

Who You Are

-Qualifications: You hold a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Immunology, or a related field, with a proven track record of research excellence demonstrated by first-author publications in top-tier peer-reviewed journals.

Independent Researcher: You are an independent scientist with excellent communication skills, a passion for exploring immune dysfunction, and a commitment to advancing knowledge in inflammatory signaling pathways.

-Technical Expertise: Proficient in advanced cellular and molecular techniques, you are eager to leverage state-of-the-art genomic and transcriptomic technologies to address complex questions in immune cell biology.

Preferred Qualifications

Pathway Biology: Familiarity with inflammatory signaling pathways, knowledge of NF-kB signaling and ubiquitination pathways is an advantages.

Technical Proficiency: Experience with scRNA-seq and flow cytometry for immune cell profiling.

Genome Engineering: Background in using CRISPR for creating disease-relevant cell models.

- Data Analysis: Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and data analysis for genomic and transcriptomic research.

Join our team to drive groundbreaking discoveries in immune disorders and inflammatory signaling. Be part of a dynamic, collaborative environment that champions innovation and scientific excellence!
