The Department of Marketing is one of five academic departments in the College of Business. The department has a strong record of teaching and research accomplishments as well as a collegial work environment. The Department currently has 23 faculty who serve approximately 3,500 undergraduate business majors, 1,000 business minors, and about 1,000 graduate students. The College’s MBA is offered in residence and online. Undergraduate concentrations in the Department of Marketing include marketing and sustainability. Six specialized certificates are offered: Bustiness-to-Business Selling, Customer Experience Management, Marketing Communication and Branding, Market Research and Data Analytics, Music Business and Strategic Marketing. Position Summary The Department of Marketing in the College of Business may hire postdoctoral fellows from an applicant pool from time to time. The teaching load and course assignments are made by the Department Chair. A post-doctoral fellow will conduct research leading to scholarly publication in leading academic journals along with teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in marketing areas of need. They will also be expected to advance the Department’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion ( DEI ). The College of Business ( COB ) has prioritized impactful, informative research addressing the intersections between business, society, and the environment. It also values excellence, as reflected in rigorous research published in top disciplinary journals. We expect the postdoctoral fellow to contribute to the mission of the COB by producing impactful research in collaboration with the Department’s Center for Marketing and Social Impact, faculty. The Department of Marketing in the College of Business at Colorado State University invites applications for a 2-year Postdoctoral Fellow position. Postdoctoral fellows may be hired for fall or spring term in a given academic year. Applications will be accepted throughout the calendar year. Hiring decisions are normally made during the late spring and throughout the summer for fall semester and during fall semester for spring semester. The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date; the Department of Marketing will not provide visa sponsorship for this position. Required Job Qualifications + Applicants must be pursuing a Ph.D. in an area of Marketing or a related field from an accredited institution. To be considered, candidates must provide convincing evidence that their doctorate degree will be completed before August 15, 2025. The hiring authority will verify this by contacting the graduate school of the individual’s program. + An established record of empirical research that is targeted to or published in top-tier, peer reviewed, academic journals in the field of marketing is also required. + Candidates must also have the interest and ability to effectively teach courses in marketing areas of need Conduct research with an identified faculty member(s) within the Center for Marketing and Social Impact. Preferred Job Qualifications + We seek individuals who aspire to develop research programs in marketing. + The ideal candidate would also: + have strong expertise in multiple research methods, with the ability to translate the results of empirical analysis in novel and urgent areas, and + complement our research strengths while bringing new dimensions to our research profile. + We are particularly interested in candidates with an interest in one or more of the following areas: public policy, consumer welfare, and marketing practices that are economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable. + We are interested in individuals who have experience working collegially, as evidenced by research that complements the interests of our existing faculty, and who are able to teach marketing courses as needed by the department. + The post-doc will teach 2 classes per year for the duration of the position. + Evidence of the potential to work effectively in a department that places significant emphasis on interdisciplinary interaction and integration is preferred.
