The work will include:

Biochemical Analyses: Investigating molecular pathways and biomarkers.

Cell Culture and Imaging: Utilizing cell and tissue imaging techniques to study mechanisms of neuronal dysfunction.

In Vivo Studies: Conducting research using mouse models to explore mechanisms of disease progression.

Experimental Procedures: Cell culture and analysis of metabolic and functional state; cell imaging; iPSC-derived brain cells; western blots; immunocytochemistry; immunohistochemistry; recombinant protein production and fractionation; gene expression/KD/KO. In vivo: performing treatments, biofluid sampling, behavioral/motor testing, euthanasia.

The Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute at Florida Atlantic University seeks scholars who are committed to supporting the learning needs of students from diverse backgrounds and to thoughtfully engaging all communities in higher education.
