Postdoctoral Position in Dr. Michael J. Betenbaugh's Lab
Johns Hopkins University
Are you excited to explore a yet-to-be-solved problem at the heart of recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) manufacturing? Join Michael Betenbaugh's research lab to develop and mature some of the most in-demand research skills in academia and industry today.
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our dynamic research team. The successful candidate will lead a project focused on improving production of rAAV using the Sf9/recombinant baculovirus (rBV) and HEK-293 expression system to achieve higher yields of high-quality and functionally active rAAV by applying computational modelling and complementary analytical and molecular biology techniques. A Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Biological Sciences, Bioengineering, or a related field is desired.
+ Johns Hopkins offers an unmatched environment for life sciences research, with a dynamic community in biomolecular engineering, biophysics, biochemistry, and medicine.
+ Standard benefits
+ Baltimre is one of the most affordable and livable cities on the US East Coast
+ The Betenbaugh laboratory offers unmatched opportunities to collaborate with industrial partners in the biopharma and biotech industry
+ Be part of the AMBIC biomanufacturing center (Prof. Betenbaugh serves as the Center Director), and you will be able to participate in AMBIC Conferences, workshops, and seminars.
+ Lab alumni have advanced to positions in industry giants (Genentech, Merck, Pfizer, GSK), and recent startups (Drul, Biolinco).
+ Initial appointment period of one year, with expectation of 2 or more years total.
