Job Description:
The Department of Oral Maxillofacial Sciences is recruiting for Postdoctoral Associate. This full-time post-doctoral position is available immediately to conduct research in the area of molecular biology and immunology of autoimmune Sjogren’s disease (SjD). Our laboratory is examining extracellular and intracellular triggers for innate immune cell activation, and their impact on T/B/Treg cells and glandular inflammation in SjD. More specifically, the roles of nucleic acid receptors and cytosolic RNA/DNA sensors in cytokine secretion and peripheral/tissue Treg regulation will be examined. In addition, anti-purinergic receptor therapyin vivoas well as a project on salivary gland regeneration are also in progress. The incumbent will carry out experiments by applying molecular, cellular, and immunological techniques to mouse and human specimens. This position is involved in many activities that will allow for cultural exchange among faculty, staff, students, and UF Exchange Visitors.
Expected Salary:
$56,000-$62,000 annually
Minimum Requirements:
Candidates must have a Ph.D. or an equivalent degree in immunology, molecular biology, cell biology, or in any related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Qualifications include molecular biology, immunology, or cell biology background with the following skills preferred, but not required:
+ Gene, protein, and bioenergetics analysis
+ Functional assays
+ Cell culture and cloning
+ Flow cytometry
+ Animal studies
+ Manuscript/fellowship applications
+ Statistical analyses or bioinformatics
+ Teaching graduate, dental, and undergraduate students
