What we want This position supports the Occupational Ergonomics and Biomechanics (OEB) Laboratory at Texas A&M University by characterizing work-related physical exposures and investigating their relationships with adverse health outcomes, with the goal of promoting health and well-being in workplaces. The Postdoctoral Research Associate is responsible for conducting research in their field of expertise. They will utilize their skills and expertise to complete research projects, manage externally funded research projects, and oversee the research staff in the OEB lab. Additionally, they will work with the lab director and study team members, write and contribute to research papers, articles, and publications, assist with the preparation and cleaning of the worksite and may collaborate with other researchers and/or faculty. Qualifications Required Education + Ph.D. with focus on Ergonomics and/or Biomechanics + Required licenses/certifications may vary with research area Preferred Qualifications + 2 years or longer lab experience + Strong programing skills Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities + Expertise in 3-D motion capture systems and biomechanical modeling (OpenSim, Visual 3D, Anybody) + Strong analytic and quantitative skills + Interpersonal skills + Written and verbal communication skills + High level of professionalism + Problem solving skills + Attention to detail Responsibilities + Manage and Support Ongoing Funded Research Projects: Coordinates current research projects that evaluate the effects of exoskeletons on biomechanical loadings and postural balance by working with the PI and research staff in the OEB lab. Develops research protocols involving various bioinstrumentation, including but not limited to motion capture systems, IMUs, force plates, load cells, etc. Leads and supports project data collection and analysis. Leads weekly meetings with the PI and research staff. Assists with the preparation and cleaning of the worksite. May collaborate with other researchers and/or faculty. + Other Academic/Research Duties: Mentors students on their research projects in the OEB lab. + Initiates and develops research proposals per their own research interests. Develops manuscripts and disseminates study results via conference proceedings, presentations, and peer-reviewed journal papers. + Administrative Duties: Provides administrative oversight to lab operations, including the research staff, project budget, IRB, procurement, etc. Leads meetings with research collaborators.
