St. Jude is seeking outstanding candidates for postdoctoral fellowship positions in the Department of Global Pediatric Medicine to study study global child health and disparities in pediatric catastrophic diseases (cancer and blood disorders). This position offers the opportunity to work on research to improve child health in resource-limited settings. This position will provide an opportunity to apply quantitative and/or qualitative research methods in diverse research areas, including epidemiology, global health, implementation science, health economics, public health, and health services research. The position will also emphasize improving skills necessary to organize and coordinate multicenter, multidisciplinary research studies globally. St. Jude offers highly competitive stipends and benefits and fosters professional development Position Responsibilities: ·Lead a a research project under the mentorship of St. Jude faculty ·Participate in writing of abstracts, manuscripts and grants ·Perform data collection, management, and analysis as needed for project ·Present and publish research results ·Be involved in postdoctoral fellow community at St. Jude ·Participate in monthly postdoctoral fellow meetings focused on career development topics ·Participate in St. Jude Grant Writing Workshops ·Participate in institutional learning opportunities, such as research workshops and symposia Minimum Education and/or Training: Eligibility Candidate must hold a graduate degree (MD, PhD or equivalent) Must have prior research experience (ability to lead or co-lead research project) At least one publication (any author order) required Special Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Required Special Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Research experience and training in research methodology, including but not limited to statistical analysis, qualitative research, public health, implementation science, epidemiology, etc. Ability to develop and lead a research project under the mentorship of St. Jude faculty General knowledge of medical, scientific, and technical terminology used in clinical research, including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods studies Skills in providing a culturally sensitivity work environment for diverse teams and collaborators Ability to solve problems and make independent decisions Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team Detail oriented Ability to anticipate, manage, and adapt to change Skill with word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail, database and presentation computer software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
