Postdoctoral Research Associate in Peng Lab
Two postdoctoral positions are available immediately for motivated candidates at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a premier center for biomedical research in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. The successful applicants will have a unique opportunity to utilize a range of biochemical and genetic technologies, with a focus on cutting-edge mass spectrometry-based proteomics and metabolomics, to investigate the pathogenesis of cancer and neurodegenerative diseases in human iPSC-derived organoids, mouse models, and clinical tissues. The primary aim is to study complex molecular networks through genetic and omics-based systems biology approaches, providing novel insights into disease mechanisms, therapeutic interventions, and biomarker discovery for precision medicine (https://www.stjude.org/peng). Our postdoctoral fellows benefit from extensive interaction with team members for career development in advanced technology and biomedical research. Our publication record is available on Google Scholar (250+ papers, 39,000+ citations). We have access to nine modern mass spectrometers and high-performance computing clusters, and St. Jude offers abundant resources in large-scale gene editing and super-resolution imaging. More than 10 of our group alumni have become principal investigators. St. Jude is a top-ranked hospital and a world-class basic research institute with 300+ faculty members. Postdoctoral fellows at St. Jude receive a competitive salary ($72K–$87K annually) in an affordable city, along with relocation assistance (up to $8,000), a professional development allowance, and an array of benefits, including health, dental, and vision coverage, and a retirement program (https://www.stjude.org/education-training/advanced-training/postdoctoral-fellows/funding-benefits-for-postdocs.html). The candidates should hold a Ph.D. degree in chemistry, biology, neuroscience, computer science, or a related field, or an M.D. degree. Experience in mass spectrometry is not required. Please submit a CV, three references, and a brief statement on previous work and future goals to Dr. Junmin Peng (junmin.peng@stjude.org), Member (Full Professor) in the Departments of Structural Biology and Developmental Neurobiology, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
