Position Title Student Worker-Pharmacy Technician

Hiring Range 13.00 per hour
Department/Employer Operating Hours 8:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday
How many hours per week are required? 15-20 hours
Description of Primary Duties
The Pharmacy Technician fills prescriptions which are checked by the pharmacist, accepts prescriptions by phone, contacts physicians for refills, and transfers prescriptions to/from other pharmacies.
Required Qualifications
Hire contingent on passing background check and successful registration with the State Board of Pharmacy. A high school diploma is required. Completion of workshops in Pharmacy Technology, personnel management, contracting, insurance billing, and pharmacology are preferred. Must meet University requirements of a Student Worker. One year experience as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred, or involvement in the medical field.
Required Certifications
Hire contingent on passing background check and successful registration with the State Board of Pharmacy
Certification or taking classes toward certification as a Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician is preferred and highly recommended.
Additional Qualifications
Must be able to lift 15-25 pounds and endure extended periods of standing on a daily basis.
