\n\n\nPatient Ratios: 1:3 couplets
\n\n\nNumber of Beds: 24 licensed bed unit – Couplet Care Model
\n\n\nDepartment Specifics: Tenured, Compassionate and Collaborating Team Member of Texas Ten Step Program High Performing Hospital U.S. News & World Report. 2400 deliveries per year, Lactation Consultant Coverage 7 days a week. Breastfeeding rates exceed TJC top performing, Patient Experience/HCACPS scores – 99th percentile, Employee Engagement – 95th percentile. Magnet Recognized Facility, active shared governance, self-scheduling.

\n\n\nBaylor Scott & White Medical Center– Grapevine has a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and is the only Level II Trauma Center in Northeast Tarrant County. Additionally, the facility is an accredited Cycle IV Chest Pain Center, Primary Stroke Center and accredited in weight loss surgery, oncology, etc. The hospital was recognized by U.S. News & World Report in its 2021-2022 “Best Hospitals” ratings as high performing in the common procedures and conditions category for stroke, heart failure, kidney failure and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). It was also recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the only Tarrant County hospital, and one of only two hospitals in the Dallas Fort Worth region, rated High Performing, the highest-possible rating for Best Hospitals for Maternity for 2021-2022. \nThe Registered Nurse on Unit is a key player in patient care management, following our nursing practice model. They work with other health care staff to deliver patient care effectively. Our Registered Nurses use the nursing process efficiently. They diagnose patient responses to health issues and create care plans accordingly. It includes evaluating healthcare needs and responses.
\nEssential Functions of the Role
\n\nPrioritize needs. Create, implement, and assess care plan to achieve outcomes. Adapt plan as necessary.\nObserve indicators closely, support evidence-based changes with research and hands-on learning.\nCreate a caring, safe environment for patients, families, and staff.\nBuild relationships with boundaries in mind. Focus on managing emotional and physical pain to promote healing and reduce suffering.\nFacilitate learning for all members of the healthcare team, including patients, families, and nursing staff, ensuring everyone is well-informed.\nCollaborate effectively with colleagues and the community to develop and execute an integrated plan of care.\nUse problem-solving strategies and utilize available resources to support patients, family and staff as part of a systems thinking approach.\n\nKey Success Factors
\n\nFamiliarity with nursing and patient care standards and procedures.\nAwareness of legal requirements and standards of certification and accreditation bodies, including the specifics of the hospital and respective department/unit.\nGood command of medical terminology, with a focus on healthcare promotion, risk reduction, and disease prevention.\nEffective communication skills, along with social aptitude for interacting with diverse stakeholders.\nPossessing critical thinking and problem-solving skills is crucial.\nCapability to identify and report changes in patient conditions, develop, and modify patient care plans as required.\nBasic computer skills necessary for day-to-day assignments.\n\nBelonging Statement

QUALIFICATIONS
\n\nEDUCATION - Associate's Degree\n\nExperience Required: 5+ years of experience in Postpartum, Couplet Care, or Mom/Baby; 1+ years of Charge experience
\nPreferred: Certification in specialty
\n\nLICENSE/REGISTRATION -Registered Nurse (RN)\nBasic Life Support (BLS) or obtain within 30 days of hire or transfer.\n
