Job Description

1. Job Overview

The Night Shift Pouch Operator supports in the operation of the entire pouching department.  Pouch Operator can operate at least one of the pouching machines.   The operator can load, set up the machines, and pack from a pouching machine. They can complete all testing and paperwork required for each position.

2. Job Dimensions

The Pouch Operator will load slit rolls onto machine and create pouches in various dimensions according to customer standards.Operator appropriately understands and follows the plant’s EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) and Quality systems to maintain a safe workplace and ensure quality product.

3. Principal Accountabilities

Perform set-up and operate pouching equipment to produce product according to quality and productivity requirementsMaintain accurate documentationEnsures material meets customer requirements throughout the runAssumes responsibility for the quality and quantity produced on the machineObtains information from the computer, prints and applies labelsPosts production information into the computerAccurately performs and records all required testingProvide communication on a daily basis with management, maintenance, shift personnel, etc.Maintain housekeeping standards of pouch machines and the surrounding areaPerform packing and material handling tasks as requiredFollow all company safety rules and proceduresAnticipates and reacts productively to changes, and willingly handles other tasks as assignedSeeks and implements improvement activities through teamwork and CI Process participationPerform other duties as assigned

6. Qualifications/Requirements

6.1 Formal Qualifications and Experience

Knowledge and Experience

Minimum two years slitting or pouching experience preferredGeneral knowledge of computers preferred

Education and Certifications

High School Diploma or GEDFork Truck Certification preferred
