Powder Coat Operator - 2nd Shift

As a Powder Coat Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating the CNC power coat machine, preparing, coating, and finishing metal parts using electrostatic powder coating equipment, ensuring high-quality application and adherence to safety standards. This position is based in Fulton, MO. The 2nd shift schedule is Monday through Thursday from 4:00pm to 2:30am.  WHAT WE OFFER + Career Growth: Opportunities to enhance your skills and advance your career through hands-on experience and professional development. + Collaborative Environment: Join a team that values innovation, teamwork, and quality. + Comprehensive Benefits: Enjoy competitive pay, health insurance, retirement plans, and work-life balance. + Shift Differential: As part of the 2nd shift team, this role qualifies for an 8.5% shift differential.  WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR + Experience/Education:  + Prior experience operating CNC manufacturing equipment is strongly preferred. + High school diploma or equivalency (GED) also preferred but not required. + Skills: + Able to read tape measure and blueprints. + Must be trained in applicable SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and work instructions, if any. + Tools: hammer & chisel, wrenches, and forklift.  + Ability to obtain and maintain fork truck license if require.  + Able to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division calculations using whole numbers as well as decimals/fractions.   + Able to calculate and interpret common tape measurements. + Ability to work independently WHAT YOU’LL DO + Perform all job duties safely to conform to our safety program + Inspect coated or plated areas for defects such as air bubbles or uneven coverage. + Spray objects with solutions to prepare them for coating. + Responsible for silver plating, grinding/sanding and torching materials.  + Immerse work pieces in coating solutions for specified times. + Set up and operate coating machines to coat copper bars. + Position and feed materials into processing machines, by using automated equipment. + Test machinery to ensure that it is operating properly. + Operate hoists to place work pieces onto machine feed carriages or spindles. + Maintain production records. + Adjust controls to set temperatures of coating substances and speeds of machines and equipment. + Remove objects from solutions at periodic intervals and observe objects to verify conformance to specifications + Confer with Supervisor to determine job requirements and quantities + Review prints to determine setup procedure, sequence of operations, and dimensions needed + Identify material to be used and load material onto racks to be fed into coating machine. + Program machine and enter commands to activate pre-programmed machine instructions + Manipulate controls and enter commands to start oven + Observe and listen to machine operation to detect malfunctions; refer to machine manual to troubleshoot malfunctions + Measure pieces for conformance to specifications and verify that the correct quantity has been produced; notify Supervisor of any discrepancies + Remove coating from hole contact surfaces + Perform ongoing housekeeping duties to keep work area clear of scrap and debris + Prevents on-the-job injuries by attending safety meetings, fork lift training, wearing safety glasses, shields, steel- toed shoes and harnesses, etc.; cleaning work area; and maintaining awareness of hazmat manuals, ISO Standards, and safety stations.
