Job DescriptionEffectively performs all duties of a powder coating sprayer, including but not limited to surface preparation, powder coating application, curing, and inspection for acceptable finished product.
ResponsibilitiesFollow standardized procedures, principles, and practices of powder coating application.Operate all coating equipment including guns, hoppers, and booth collection systems – familiarization with GEMA systems is a plus.Ensure that all components are produced and coated efficiently, consistent with company-established quality and delivery goals.Load and unload parts in a mainline or custom booth setting.Maintain a working knowledge of the mechanics and basic repair of powder coating equipment.Perform proper cleaning and preventative maintenance on equipment, and maintain 5S readiness of work area.Essential SkillsStrong experience in powder coating; over 3 years of experience and/or training preferred.Direct experience in painting on sheet metal/industrial paint experience required.High attention to detail while operating in a fast-paced, high-producing environment.Ability to work independently with little daily supervision.Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school level education or equivalent specialized training which may be obtained in vocational courses or on the job.Prior powder coating experience is preferred, with an understanding of how different it is from liquid paintWork EnvironmentThe Spokane facility exclusively makes parts for a major client, with a small team that will grow to over 60+ people. This is a good opportunity to get in early.The work environment includes a sheet metal manufacturing shop with welders, powder coaters, brake operators, quality inspectors, and more.The ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $33.22/hr.
