Power Africa Tracking Tool Specialist - Ghana

Project Summary: 

Tetra Tech is implementing the recently awarded, five-year USAID Power Africa Empower West Africa (EWA) Activity. Building on a decade of Power Africa success, EWA aims to close the energy poverty gap in the region by increasing supply of and access to affordable, reliable, and sustainable electricity. By 2029, EWA aims to establish six million new electricity connections; reach financial close for 2,500 megawatts of new generation capacity; construct 1,500 kilometers of new power lines; and achieve sales of 40,000 productive use of energy (PUE) devices.

Position Summary: 

Tetra Tech is recruiting a Power Africa Tracking Tool Specialist who will report to the Partnerships Coordinator and manage data gathering, quality assurance, and management into the Power Africa Tracking Tool (PATT), Power Africa Information System (PAIS), and other information management tools deemed necessary for Empower West Africa. They will also support with data collection the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Specialist and partnerships team to collect and report EWA results; coordinate with all project entities to ensure proper data entry into the PATT/PAIS; and contribute to reports for USAID and any entity approved by the Chief of Party.  This position is full-time, and hiring is contingent upon USAID approval. Interested candidates must be eligible to work in Ghana.  

Position Responsibilities:

Support to the Partnerships Coordinator to:

Oversees Power Africa Tracking Tool (PATT)/Power Africa Information System (PAIS) Specialist to periodically report data and provide input to PATT and PAIS to assist the Power Africa MEL team in reporting results.  Oversees Qualified Transactions Assistance Tool (QTAT) development including collecting information and facilitate clearance for data entry into the PATT. Coordinate with MEL Specialist, EWA supported projects and partners and Power Africa to ensure that data is updated accurately in the PATT.  Conduct new entries as well as update power projects assigned to the portfolio, gathering data from various sources, including databases such as Africa Energy, spreadsheets, other data repositories and credible online sources. Ensure data integrity and quality by identifying and resolving inconsistencies or errors.  Create reports (monthly, quarterly, yearly, and ad hoc), dashboards, and visualizations to present findings in a clear and concise manner using tools like Microsoft Excel, Word, or PowerPoint   Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their business needs and provide data-driven insights. Provide ad hoc support and training to stakeholders. Liaise with Power Africa, the Partnerships Coordinator, and the Partnerships Specialist to prepare, collect, and verify partner transaction and project data and provide analytical support on transaction data by pulling reports and updating from the databases as requested. Support data requests from the Power Africa Coordinator’s Office, Power Africa field staff, and implementing partners across Power Africa’s various implementing mechanisms.  Perform other duties to help accomplish activity objectives as assigned by the Partnerships Coordinator and Chief of Party

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in statistics, economics, engineering, management, or any other relevant field and five years of relevant experience Experience in data analysis and tools such as MS Excel and statistical packages.  Expertise in quantitative and qualitative methodologies, research, management information systems, reporting, data quality assessments, and data analysis and visualization  Experience in using the PATT and the PAIS  Ability to convey results to non-technical stakeholders and to train project staff or any other stakeholder approved by the Chief of Party to use the PATT/PAIS tools. Experience operating and improving data management systems.  Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Valued Qualifications:

Fluency in French
