POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Project Management Area Lead for our Power Delivery Project Management Group IV, Department 110. Preferred locations for this position South, Southeast, however other POWER offices may be considered.

Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities

The Project Management Area Lead (PMAL) is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the local and/or regional project management team to produce a product consistent with POWER’s mission statement and our culture.  The PMAL is expected to lead by example in adhering to POWER’s culture and defined project management and business practices and to achieve the goals of the business plan, maintain POWER’s high-quality standards, promote internal teamwork and meet the needs of our clients. The position requires a focus on division goals to enhance client connection, maintain uncompromising quality and build a better future together.

Essential Job Duties:

Meet and exceed business plan utilization, revenue and IFO goals Support the development of and execution of the BU and department recruiting plans. Monitor and address retention Oversee the bi-annual employee review process for all staff. Perform reviews for all direct reports. Summarize recommendations for position and salary adjustments as well as year-end bonus for all direct reports. Ensure 100% completion of reviews prior to distribution of raises and bonus in June and December Position the group to be able to subcontract services to Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) to meet DBE client specific goals Support the preparation, monitoring and execution of PE to PM plans for internal transfers and new external hires. Ensure a strong mentoring relationship is established with all new PM’s Ensure that monthly meetings are held with each direct report PM to discuss At-Risk report, Project Financial Reports and Project Interface information, compliance with established PM procedures such as DOR for all projects, Green Sheet meetings, CPT updates, percent complete updates, development of PES curves etc. as identified as best practices in POWER’s PM/PE training Business Development: Take on the role of developing engineering and management level relationships for a specific target client or clients. Project Management: Continue to fulfill a PM role on projects. Mentor newer PM’s as appropriate.  Goal is 40% billability

Required Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering PE (or equivalent) license and/or PMP certification Ten (10) + years industry experience Five (5) years project management experience Demonstrable leadership experience Demonstrated supervisory experience Demonstrated competence in client development and client relationship management Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired Education/Experience

Participation and leadership in relevant industry professional organizations Demonstrated competence in working with multiple departments, disciplines, and multiple companies to deliver successful projects Knowledge of POWER’s major clients in the region
