Job Purpose 

In this role you will be part of Canoo’s Power Electronics Team within the Propulsion group and will be the leader of current and forward-looking Power Electronics Components including Traction Drive Inverter(s), DC/DC Converters or Onboard Chargers. As the Project Lead you will be expected to communicate cross-functionally across all engineering disciplines to engineer and deliver high quality Power Electronics Components(s) for vehicle production. 

Responsibilities (80s of the Position) 

Component Technical Specification (CTS) Owner responsible for the Component Release and Change Management Presentations Manage Project Bill of Materials (BOM) and Sourcing Strategy Oversee Project Schedule Lead Design Failure Mode and Effects (DFMEA) Discussions and Documentation and Preliminary and Final Design Reviews (PDR / FDR) Define Cost Targets, Support Budget Definition and Tracking Manage Statement of Work’s (SOW) and Request for Quote’s (RFQ) and Manage First Article Sample Reviews Lead Weekly Product Execution Team (PET) Meetings Support Cross-Functional Team Members as Needed

Required Experience 

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering or related field Minimum 3 years of professional engineering experience  Strong communication, presentation, and teamwork skills Ability to solve complex problems Proficient in MS Office applications Self-starter / ability to work independently Multi-tasker, cover multiple projects at once

 Preferred Experience  

Master’s degree in in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field More than 5 years engineering experience Familiarity with automotive standards Proficient in Catia V6 (3D Experience) or similar mechanical CAD tools or electrical schematic and layout tools  Experience in component design for various manufacturing processes such as casting, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication or printed circuit board and fabrication and assembly, wire harness assembly, and electronic assemblies.

Travel Requirements

Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% depending on program phase.

While performing the duties of this job, employees may be required to sit for prolonged periods of time, occasionally bending or stooping, lifting up to 10 pounds, and prolonged periods of computer use.
