Position Overview:As a Power Electronics Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and optimization of SiC-based power electronic systems. You will be involved in creating cutting-edge solutions that leverage SiC's superior thermal and electrical properties to enhance power efficiency and reliability in high-power applications.
Key Responsibilities:Design and Development: Lead the design and development of power electronic converters and inverters using SiC-based technology.Simulation and Modeling: Perform detailed simulations (SPICE, PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink) to model SiC devices and optimize system performance.Prototyping and Testing: Develop prototypes, carry out performance evaluations, and execute test plans for power electronic systems with SiC devices.Thermal Management: Analyze and implement effective thermal management solutions to ensure optimal performance and longevity of SiC-based power electronics.Efficiency Optimization: Develop high-efficiency power systems for applications such as electric vehicles, industrial motor drives, and renewable energy systems.Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, firmware, and system engineering, to ensure seamless integration of SiC-based components into larger systems.Compliance: Ensure designs meet industry standards, regulatory compliance, and safety certifications.Documentation: Create detailed engineering documentation, including technical specifications, design reports, and user manuals.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.Experience: 5+ years of experience in power electronics design, with a focus on SiC-based technologies.
Technical Skills:Strong understanding of SiC device physics and their applications in power electronics.Proficiency in the design of DC-DC, AC-DC, and DC-AC converters.Experience with simulation tools such as SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or PLECS.Familiarity with high-frequency switching, gate drivers, and magnetics.Knowledge of thermal management and packaging techniques for high-power systems.
Preferred Experience: Previous experience working with wide-bandgap semiconductors (WBG), especially in automotive, renewable energy, or aerospace industries.Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex circuits and optimize designs.Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document designs and work collaboratively with teams.
