Roles and ResponsibilitiesAs a Substation Project Engineer, you will:
Lead and direct the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations, including one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, and equipment selection.Write substation equipment specifications, develop proposals, estimate construction costs, and manage project schedules.Mentor and guide less experienced staff in substation project execution.Ensure quality procedures are followed and optimize team resources.Perform QA/QC for deliverables and manage the scope, schedule, budget, and quality of assigned projects.Required Education/ExperienceTo thrive in this role, you should have:
A BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) degree from an accredited university, preferably with a power option.Experience in 15kV through 138kV substation design (Protection & Control or Physical/Civil/Structural).Proven ability to manage multiple substation projects concurrently.Strong command of the English language with excellent written and oral communication skills.Legal authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.Desired Education/ExperienceWe would love to see candidates with:
Five (5) or more years of experience in utility substation design.A Professional Engineering license (PE).Experience in 230 kV to 500 kV substation design and familiarity with IEEE/ANSI standards.Why Join Us?Here, you can have a rewarding career on every level. Base Salary Range: $80K - $110K
The salary range for this position is displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on factors including an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This range does not include additional compensation such as bonuses, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.
