As a Power HVAC Mechanic (Service Tech III) within the Power/HVAC division at United Rentals, you’ll use your skills to perform maintenance tasks as well as minor repairs on equipment in a safe and professional manner. You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of diesel engines, HVAC equipment, and dehumidification/air purification equipment. What you'll do:
Maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools
Report machine condition to Management
Responsible for service documentation
Occasional travel to customer sites
Demonstrate equipment for customers
Train lower level technicians as needed
Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
Other duties assigned as needed
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
3-5 years of experience with repairing and maintaining diesel engines or HVAC equipment
Intermediate to advanced diagnostic and repair skills for mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic and other systems
Strong mechanical background knowledge particularly with various engines
Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams
Own the tools applicable to position
Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

What you'll do:
Responsible for the safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex Tools and Specialty Equipment at branch or customer locations involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, welding, and hoisting
Perform intermediate level diagnostics and repairs on a variety of Tools and systems utilizing working knowledge of schematics and diagrams
Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed
Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed
When required travel to customer site for repair/maintenance of rental or owned equipment
May assist in the pick up and delivery of equipment and parts to and from outside vendors and other United Rentals, Inc. locations for purchase and/or repair
Other duties assigned as needed
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
3-5 years of experience repairing/maintaining Specialty Tools
Must own tools applicable to position
Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
Working knowledge of schematics and diagrams
Working knowledge of Specialty Tools; manufacturers’ warranty access; and work order/time spent accounting
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Ability to coach and mentor less experienced service technicians
Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
