Power Plant Planner

LCRA is seeking a motivated and responsible individual to join its Dam & Hydro Team! This role will be headquartered at Lake Buchanan, TX. As a Power Plant Planner, your skills and experience will be applied to process work orders daily, create job plans, create and maintain detailed preventative and maintenance strategies, work plans and work packages, and maintain an overall maintenance backlog. The ability to multitask and solve complex problems is a must. This will entail prioritizing your daily workload with other demanding work. Most of the time, you will work independently with minimal guidance and will be a resource for colleagues with less experience. At times, you may direct the work of other staff members. You will be trusted to:

- Develop detailed work packages, including cost, for all tasks performed in an assigned area. Work packages shall be comprehensive and include steps, safety precautions, OEM information, parts, tools, equipment, and any other resources needed to perform task effectively. Jobs shall be planned with enough detail that any qualified craft person can safely and effectively perform the work with little assistance.
- Plan the completion of complex and detailed repairs, installation and maintenance of equipment in assigned area.
- Develop and track appropriate metrics to track the effectiveness of work processes.
- Analyze unplanned failures and develop and implement mitigation steps for all critical equipment in an assigned area.
- Analyze operation data and trend performance and condition of all critical equipment in an assigned area.

You qualify with:

- Nine or more years of experience in industrial (power, petrochemical, pulp/paper, steel, etc) plant operations, maintenance or engineering or other relevant experience.   
- A degree(s) in power generation, engineering, business, science, math or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.  

You are a great fit with:

- Experience in operating and maintaining conventional gas/coal fired power plants or combustion turbine based power plants.
- Experience in maintenance planning principles, including work package development and PM development.
- Experience in non-destructive examination (NDE), oil analysis, vibration analysis, thermography, transformer testing, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), root cause analysis, and other applicable PdM tools.
- Experience in developing and implementing CMMS processes.
- Experience with Maximo.
