Power Routing and Siting Program Director

Who you are:

You are an industry leader in the Routing Siting space for energy projects and an individual who enjoys strategizing with leaders in our client organizations and works to become a trusted advisor to those organizations. You have the ability to communicate, coordinate, and schedule meetings with the Executive Director, Executive Leadership Team (Chief Financial Officer, Chief Innovation Officer, Chief Operations Officer, etc.) Chief Engineer, Division or Department Manager or similar positions where client strategy, funding, and operational decisions are made. You excel at bringing a multi-disciplined approach to routing and siting energy infrastructure and have a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities the power industry is facing today and into the future. Additionally, new and emerging technologies excite you and you work collaboratively to strategize how to get a project through permitting and construction in a timely manner. This position joins an industry-leading practice of nearly 1,400 consultants across the globe.

Additionally, this position would include:

Providing leadership in generating best practices around and HDR-focused integrated routing process that encapsulates our values of listening first to our clients while leveraging our extensive lessons learned in the industry. Collaborating with peers across the globe in Environmental, GIS, Right of Way, Strategic Communications, and Engineering to refine our approach to routing and siting.Acting as a Senior Advisor to HDR’s growing Routing and Siting practice group and associated working groups.Providing leadership or assisting in the delivery of complex routing and siting projects.Working with our marketing and business development staff to increase HDR’s market presence in routing and siting of transmission, generation and distributed energy resources infrastructure. This includes engagement with industry groups as well as the supporting the development of competitive proposals.Supporting HDR’s internal and external clients in the growing investments in 765 kV and other EHV projects across the globe and focused in the Central Region of the United States.Collaborating with the Power leadership team to develop and execute on initiatives and strategies to capture more market in the routing and siting market including utilities, IPPs, and other players in the energy space.Providing mentorship to our leadership and young staff on best practices and the market opportunities related to energy infrastructure.Advising communication and engagement strategies on planning, design and construction projects.Supporting campaign development activities including target audience analysis, branding, messaging and market research.Being a trained or experienced facilitator comfortable working with large and small groups.Having the ability to travel up to 15% to participate in client and project meetings and public facing workshops.Direct HDR’s Power Market Sector advisory consulting services in client advising and engagement, perform data analyses and document results, and make recommendations on alternatives related to operation and business management changes.Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

A minimum of 20 years as a consultant and extensive related experience.Master’s degree in related field.Experience with data analysis and visualization software such as Tableau and Power BI.Experience in the A/E/C industry.Strong analytical skills with the ability to compile and present summary level information.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.Excellent interpersonal skills and strong relationship, organizational and follow-up skills.

Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field A minimum of 10 years of experience in related field Maintains a professional or Engineering registration and has related technical experience Experienced in development and management of diverse teams Works cooperatively with other business class directors, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
