Power Systems Analyst

 Under general direction, performs detailed analyses and develops projects from strategic planning through project proposal development phases in the areas of distributed generation, smart grid, microgrid, energy storage, operational optimization, and utility investment strategies in order to advance ASUs energy and sustainability goals and initiatives.

Most activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse. Travel throughout campus will require standing and walking significant distances between and within buildings on campus. Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. May also include activities that require bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 20 pounds, may climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding, and working at heights above thirty (30) feet. Certain tasks may require working in confined spaces and within extreme temperature ranges. The ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions is required. The position may drive University vehicles and/or carts.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other technical field (e.g., physics and sustainability) and three (3) years of energy related experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Employee may be required to possess a valid US Drivers license of the appropriate class and required endorsements throughout employment. 

This is a grant funded position. Continuation is contingent on future grant funding.
