Join our team and help build engineering solutions that change the industry. **The Role** The Maintenance Technician I performs corrective and preventative maintenance on all manufacturing equipment. This position is expected to assist other Maintenance Technicians while learning to work more independently. The level of the Maintenance Technician role will be dependent on factors such as candidate experience and certification level. **Job** **Duties/Responsibilities** **may include, but are not limited to:** + Must show proficiency in all maintenance related job functions including but not limited to corrective and preventive maintenance + Demonstrates mechanical knowledge and aptitude + Follow proper safety guidelines including point of work risk assessment and lockout/tagout + Follows all written policies and procedures safely without deviation or refer to upper management for guidance. + Must have knowledge of Critical Safety Devices and functionality + Must show proficiency in all maintenance related job functions including but not limited to corrective and preventive maintenance. + Troubleshoot, repair and install parts on machines and equipment + Ability to work independently or in a team setting + Demonstrate understanding of blueprints, Original Equipment Manufacturer manuals, Bill of Materials and Standard Operating Procedure + Understands the operating principles of all PITs, Turret trucks, order pickers, sit downs, reach trucks, counterbalances, Bridge and Jib cranes, including basic troubleshooting and sequence of operation + Motors: Demonstrate the ability to determine pertinent motor nameplate info for replacement and or reordering + Knowledge and proper use of hand and power tools + Performs visual inspections and maintenance of production equipment + Tests machinery and equipment after maintenance has been completed + Electrical: Demonstrate the ability to operate multi-meter tester for voltage, amperage, and resistance + Demonstrates a full understanding of the departments CMMS system and completes required paperwork, documents parts, material usage and downtime within the CMMS + Demonstrates understanding of root cause analysis + Identify routine faults or failures and report upper management + Actively working towards the completion of skills training curriculum as defined by management + Maintain routine housekeeping to eliminate workplace hazards + General comprehension of cleanliness of machines when put back together + Demonstrates a clear understanding for a clean environment for all precision component repair + Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles + Performs other duties as assigned **Basic Qualifications:** + Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience **What You Will Get:** + Paid time off + Most national holidays off with pay + 100% 401K match up to 6% + Health, dental, vision, disability & life insurance + Employee Assistance Program + Local & national discounts! **Additional Information:** + Located onsite in Fort Worth, TX. + Up to 10% travel + Pay starts at $25/hr **This employer is not currently hiring foreign national applicants that require or will require sponsorship tied to a specific employer, such as H, L, TN, F, J, E, O.** **As a global company, Caterpillar offers many job opportunities outside of the U.S. which can be found through our employment website at** **www.caterpillar.com/careers** **.** **EEO/AA Employer.
