Powered Industrial Truck (PIT)/Forklift Technician
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7am-3pm
Key Job Responsibilities:
Maintain fleet of PIT equipment and industrial batteries by preforming preventive maintenance and corrective repairs in a timely manner per manufacturer and company guidelines. Troubleshoot equipment failures, including root cause analysis, research of potential warranty, rework and repetitive repairs using historical equipment data available. Timely and accurate completion of all work orders and service records in Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) per the time standard. Maintain equipment parts and supplies inventories in CMMS by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipate needed parts and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt. Communicate information to managers, supervisors, and co-workers by phone, in writing, or in person. In partnership with facility leader or maintenance manager, prioritize work to support the operation most effectively. Make recommendations on repair vs replacement of equipment based on cost, budget, and age of equipment.Requirements:
High School or GED Diploma. 1 to 3 years’ experience as a PIT mechanic Preferred manufacturer specific certification and/or training, such as Crown or Raymond, or willing to achieve certification. Strong communication, problem solving, and analytical skills. Strong knowledge of operating functions of PIT equipment and Lock Out Tag Out standards to safely preform repairs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook and Word and Web Based Reporting Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues including understanding what is needed to preform repairs, including reading, and understanding drawings, blueprints, and proper technique to move and safely secure larger parts during repair. Ability to organize his/her own work with a sense of urgency and work independently, with limited supervision while working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs, and across multiple worksites.Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, up to 8 hours; use hands to lift, maneuver, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms and occasionally, required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift 80lbs and/or move up to 100lbs with limited assistance. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to wear approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and must maintain a high level of self-awareness about their surroundings. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.Benefits:
