Position Summary

Operates, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment, such as air compressors, boilers, generators, motors, turbines, steam boiler feed water pumps, water softeners, cooling towers and heaters in the steam and water system at a state of the art Bridgestone Americas tire manufacturing facility.

Top out pay rate is $39.66/ hour. There is a night shift premium of $1.00/ hour.


All candidates must meet the minimum eligibility requirements:

1. Must have a minimum 4 years Conventional Boiler Powerhouse operational experience.
2. Must have Level 2 or Universal HVAC license

Responsibilities

Observes meters and gauges to determine operating conditions of equipment and makes adjustments or repairs as necessary to insure efficient performance. Keeps clerical records such as temperatures of equipment, hours of operation, fuel consumed, temperature and analysis of flue gases. Operates, maintains and observes prescribed safety regulations pertaining to the use and care of the boilers and equipment. Performs startup and shutdown of plant systems. Makes inspection rounds, repairs pumps in place, including coupling, un-coupling and pump/motor alignment. Repairs valves and replaces piping and gaskets on Main Utility Piping as required. Will maintain all service equipment as required or assigned. Take chemical samples, run chemical tests, and services all steam and water chemical treatment systems in the powerhouse and the plant.

Performs all work where required by management through various policies and procedures to maintain Plant Safety, Environmental, and Quality Standards.

Typically requires a high school degree; or 1-2 year vocational training / associates degree
