Powertrain Build and Test Program Manager

The Powertrain Build and Test Program Manager will be responsible for leading the development and execution of the build and test phases for pre-production powertrains. This critical role requires a strong technical background, proven project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of build readiness, including resource allocation, supply chain management, quality control, and data tracking. They will also oversee the planning, execution, and analysis of powertrain testing activities, ensuring timely completion of milestones and continuous improvement of processes.3

You'll have…

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or related) or equivalent experience  3+ years of experience in build and test planning/coordination, program management, or similar Technical understanding of electric powertrains, including battery packs, e-boxes, inverters, motors, and gearboxes; encompassing manufacturing, assembly processes, functionality, and performance requirements. Experience using Confluence, Jira, Jama, and/or other project management tools. Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills to collaborate cross-functionally with technical teams.  Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Bachelor’s in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or related) with 5+ years program management experience Hands-on experience building, testing and launching automotive products. Experience leading or exposure to dyno testing.  Strong written and verbal communication skills. An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team. Desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvement.

What you'll do…

Build Management Lead and manage pre-production powertrain builds from end-to-end. Oversee powertrain build preparation, planning, and execution. Assist in identifying and addressing tooling, equipment, and resource constraints. Oversee the development of build process, work instructions, and data collection, establishing and maintaining optimal build tracking methods. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine part quantities, place orders with suppliers, and coordinate timely delivery. Establish process and requirements for incoming part quality, inventory, and part kits. Integrate test priorities and requirements (ie instrumentation) into build planning and prioritization, aligning with customer needs and testing objectives. Continuously improve build processes by incorporating lessons learned, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Proactively identify and communicate lessons learned (read across) from pre-production builds to inform and improve high-volume manufacturing processes. Test Management Lead and manage powertrain testing activities, including planning, execution, and result analysis. Collaborate with engineering teams to align test plans, requirements, resources, and execution. Utilize project management tools (e.g., Jira, Jama) to organize tasks, track progress, and ensure timely completion of testing milestones. Oversee the development of test procedures, ensuring they are comprehensive, accurate, and explicitly aligned with all defined test requirements. Lead cross-functional teams to troubleshoot testing issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to optimize powertrain performance.
