Job Description
The Hybrid Electric Vehicle Calibration Engineer is responsible for leading calibration development of assigned function items in the Hybrid Control Processor (HCP) from initial dyno testing to production for next-generation xHEV Propulsion Systems. This role involves the application and optimization of control systems into production for xHEV Propulsion Systems. The calibrator will document and justify all HCP calibration changes through rigorous development and test plans and present these changes to lead calibrators and management. Additionally, the calibrator will participate in or lead the Center of Excellence team for their functional areas.
ResponsibilitiesDocument and justify all HCP calibration changes through rigorous development and test plans.Present and justify changes to lead calibrators and management as appropriate.Participate in or lead the Center of Excellence team for their functional areas.Review new calibrations in their area and work with other calibrators and controls engineers to ensure initial values for new calibrations are correct.Coordinate calibration merges with other functional leads.Hold production release responsibility for the HCP software and calibrations.Support dyno commissioning and first-run activities.Work closely with the HCP controls team to ensure features are working sufficiently and efficiently.Provide training to new calibration engineers and others needing training on the operation of ePT vehicles and controls.Support trips and report activities for management.Work with the Center of Excellence teams to ensure best practices are followed.Serve as the lead contact point for system issues in their functional area.Essential SkillsBachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree.Minimum of 2 years of calibration experience.Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to work independently and with others.High level of analytic ability and creativity.Ability to balance work effectively on multiple issues.Ability to execute a disciplined test plan and verification process to ensure quality calibrations are released.Strong knowledge of the Powertrain system.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of control system development tools such as Matlab Simulink and GT Power.Minimum of 2 years of calibration experience on an Electrification Application.Experience in Powertrain Control solutions development (powertrain control algorithms, On-board Diagnostics/OBD, embedded software).Knowledge of fundamentals of eMachines, Power Electronics, and electrification power flow.Experience in engine/transmission design and development and/or Powertrain Systems Engineering.Master's Degree in a related field.Work Environment
The position is onsite at the CTC facility, requiring attendance anywhere from 3 to 5 days a week. The role involves working closely with teams to ensure efficient and accurate calibration and control system development.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $44.17 - $44.17/hr.
