About the Intern Program

12 week program with start dates on: May 12 or 19 or June 240 hours per weekMust graduate between December 2025 - May 2027 Responsibilities Assist in the design, development, and testing of powertrain components and systems.Conduct research and analysis to support the optimization of engine performance, fuel efficiency, and emissions.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, to integrate powertrain systems into vehicle platforms.Participate in the development of simulation models and perform data analysis to validate design concepts.Support the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and documentation.Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to powertrain systems. Minimum Requirements Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. International Motors does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B or F-1 status) Desired Skills Minimum required cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scaleStrong communication and organizational skillsCritical thinking and problem solvingPrevious internships or work experience is a plusAbility to work independentlyCurrently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.Strong understanding of internal combustion engines, electric powertrains, and hybrid systems.Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink).Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly.Previous internship or project experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
