Ford Performance is seeking a highly skilled and experienced person to supervise a powertrain team delivering in flight 26MY - 29MY programs, including engineering, validation, and launch. Strong ICE powertrain skills and experience are required to be successful in this fast-paced job.
This key role within FP requires a dynamic and flexible individual that can handle multiple projects in different phases, but with many common parts. These programs have unique build sites and unique commercial considerations. An individual with a passion for high performance vehicles and a strong desire to deliver a premium set of products in a quality manner is essential for success.
What you'll do...
Manage team releasing roughly 40+ NTEI parts, some common to multiple programs and some with unique launch dates
Lead key technical content released by FP that includes elements of the secondary air injection system, and ownership of the overall SAI system function
Key technical hardware oversight of the powertrain system as it pertains to delivering SULEV30 for 28MY. This requires close interface with the calibration, engine, and after treatment teams
Oversight of major transmission upgrades for 27MY
Close interface with contract engineering on key program deliverables
Close interface with core IPTSE & TDE teams for engine, transmission, and axle deliverables
Lead the total Powertrain system integration and program delivery of Quality, Cost, Weight, Function and Timing (QCWFT). Lead from pre <PS> to OKTB
Act as the primary interface between the vehicle program/platform and the Functional teams
Management of all powertrain elements to the vehicle program utilizing Ford tools and systems
Lead powertrain prototype builds and support vehicle prototype builds
Manage resolution of all powertrain program issues
Lead PT team for on-site launch support from TT to OKTB as required
Support PT technical development & systems integration
You'll have...
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
4+ years of experience with powertrain systems and components experience and knowledge
4+ years of experience with plant, manufacturing, launch experience, tooling knowledge, experience in all phases of product development
Even better, you may have...
Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
6+ years of experience with powertrain systems and components experience and knowledge
6+ years of experience with GPDS and other Ford engineering tools (TeamCenter, WERS, FEDE, etc.)
6+ years of experience with plant, manufacturing, launch experience, tooling knowledge, experience in all phases of product development
3+ years of experience in a leadership capacity leading engineers
One Ford Behavior, ability to work cross-functionally, build team consensus
Superior written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
