Job Title:  Plant Mechanic-- Aiken, SC

Job Summary:

PM Mechanics are expected to properly diagnose, replace, and/or repair manufacturing equipment by utilizing appropriate tooling, and material to accomplish maintenance functions including but not limited to the following: inspections, troubleshooting, repairing, lubricating, removing, and replacing components on equipment. Must be able to solve problems by studying drawings, and technical publications if necessary. Employees will practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures; comply with all costumer rules and safety procedures and policies. Must be willing to work flexible shifts, and be subject to overtime. Tobacco free facility.

Essential Duties:

An industrial mechanic will perform as a skilled team member in the continuous improvement of maintenance, fabrication, welding, installation, and repair of tire manufacturing equipment and components.

Qualifications:

Must have high school diploma or G.E.D. Possess the ability to use the English language to communicate (both verbally and in writing) accurately and concisely on technical matters Must be a team player Read and interpret electrical system schematics/drawing Experience in commercial and/or industrial maintenance Have a complete set of basic hand tools appropriate for industrial maintenance and repair (company will provide specialized tools) General knowledge of bearings, conveyors, drives, gearboxes, pumps, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Preferred Experience

2+ years of industrial maintenance experience Industrial maintenance experience a plus Technical school training a plus  Familiarity with mobile powered equipment like aerial lifts, forklifts, cranes preferred

Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:

Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically through DocuSign May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds Must posses enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas Must have full range of motion consistent with age Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
