 Job Title: PPM Director of Operations (1.1)

 Job Summary:

MOR PPM Inc seeks Director of Operations in Society Hill, SC.  The Director of Operations role comes with a host of responsibilities. Many of these involve the supervision of managers and the evaluation of company processes.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Defining, implementing and revising operational policies Executing existing and new growth directives Communicating with departmental heads to assist the VP of Operations in developing financial plans and ensure company values are met Overseeing client support services Monitors the execution of the PPM safety program and the performance of work by internal staff and external vendors and champions our Mission First, People Always values Works closely with current customers, future customers, peer PM’s and support teams in managing and developing projects and Site Managers Uses extensive knowledge of project scheduling, bids, take offs, change orders, and contracts to properly identify and process scope changes, address issues, communicate regarding project milestones, etc. Continuously develop relationships to identify and cultivate opportunities stablishes strategic direction and follows through with exceptional organizational execution of project. Grows the business through internal operations and network expertise Delivers consistent top and bottom-line results, both long and short term Ensure respect, ethics and safety are considered in all decisions and are an integral part of the company culture Communicates effectively and can motivate/lead a wide variety of people Forms effective relationships with customers, direct reports, craft workers, and corporate office Has a strong understanding of labor and its indirect and material costs Demonstrates a general knowledge of building construction types Understands the various project procurement delivery methods – D/B, D/A, unit price, GMP, IPD etc. Oversee or participates in various wage studies and analysis May oversee or represent the company in resolving issues Has strong public speaking skills Demonstrate strong project presentation skills Demonstrate strong negotiation skills Have a clear understanding of construction contracts General understanding of applicable construction law (i.e., contracts, change orders, contract bidding, etc.) and effect on the organization’s projects

Education, Experience, And License:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction or related areas of study; and/or Minimum of 15 years progressive experience in managing and leading more complex and larger scale mechanical construction projects. Experience must include:

Direct P&L responsibilities for projects exceeding $1MM At least five years as a Project Manager/Construction Manager. Preferred experience in paper-mill or fossil fuel plants.  Responsibilities to include managing and developing project controls Engaged in estimating and project and budget reviews BA/BS degree applicable to position. Years of experience may be substituted or combined between college degree, completed apprentice/training program and years of experience Demonstrated success in team leadership, process adherence, ownership/commitment Strategic thinker who can establish and manage plans while building and fostering relationships Knowledge of safety and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations Proficient PC skills: including knowledge of cloud-based Microsoft systems such as OneDrive and Office 365. Experience and knowledge of project management scheduling software is required. Interpersonal skills such as oral, verbal, and written communication skills are required.

Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically via DocuSign May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds Must posses enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas Must have full range of motion consistent with age Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
