Job Title: Machinest-- Aiken, SC

Job Summary:

A Machinist must be able to operate lathe and milling machines. Also must be able to read blueprints. in order to fabricate or modify parts for industrial machinery. Employees will practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures; comply with all costumer rules and safety procedures and policies. Must be willing to work flexible shifts, and be subject to overtime. Tobacco free facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

A Machinist will perform as a skilled team member in the continuous improvement, fabrication, and repair of tire manufacturing equipment and components otherwise working as a Plant Mechanic. Read blueprints, drawings, and technical publications Read and understand metric or standard measurements Calculate dimensions and/ or tolerances using a knowledge of applicable mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and Vernier calipers Must have a complete set of basic hand tools, gauges, micrometers, and calipers appropriate for industrial machine work Proficiently operate lathes, mills (2&3 axis), and band saws

Experience:  

At least 2-years experience as Machinist/Plant Mechanic Preferred Keyseater experience

Qualifications & Skills:

Must have high school diploma or G.E.D. Possess the ability to use the English language to communicate (both verbally and in writing) accurately and concisely on technical matters Must be a team player Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and technical publications Ability to read and understand metric or standard measurements Ability to calculate dimensions and/ or tolerances using a knowledge of applicable mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and Vernier calipers Must have a complete set of basic hand tools, gauges, micrometers, and calipers appropriate for industrial machine work Proficiently operate lathes, mills (2&3 axis), and band saws

 Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:

Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically through DocuSign May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds Must posses enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas Must have full range of motion consistent with age Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
