Job Title: Plant Mechanic I, II, III

Job Summary:

The Plant Mechanic will perform as a skilled mechanic in the inspection, maintenance, repair of equipment. Follow all safety guidelines and provide for the safety of customers, employees and other persons any time they are on or in company property, remove mobile equipment from service and ensure equipment is not returned to service until malfunction has been properly diagnosed and repaired; utilizes appropriate tooling, equipment and material to accomplish maintenance functions including but not limited to the following: inspections, troubleshooting, repairing, removing and replacing components on equipment.

Essential Duties:

Responsible for ensuring equipment uptime by quick in-depth trouble shooting and repair of equipment failures. Dismantles machines; moves machinery and equipment; Assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines and blowers; aligns machines and equipment using reverse alignment method; assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures; may operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications; may repair and lubricate machines and equipment; may be involved in the grouting activity for equipment base plates. Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications:

Must have at least one year of experience in plant maintenance Possess the ability to use the English language to communicate (both verbally and in writing) accurately and concisely on technical matters to external and internal customers

Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:

May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds Must posses enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas Must have full range of motion consistent with age Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
