About the Role:

\n

The Marketing team at PitchBook is critical to fueling the company’s growth by using a variety of strategies to increase brand awareness and support our Sales and Customer Success departments in growing and retaining our client base. The Marketing department is responsible for all demand generation efforts by executing engaging campaigns, creating effective product marketing strategies, and promoting PitchBook at client and trade-show events.

Reporting to the Director of Communications, the PR Manager, Executive Communications, will develop and lead execution of public relations, external communications, and social media strategies for PitchBook’s executive leadership team. This role will be responsible for building proactive programs for each leader that effectively translate PitchBook’s mission, vision, and values, while elevating the executives’ personal and professional brands. These programs should entail development and maintenance of content calendars, external media engagements, bylines and blogs, event participation, speaking and award opportunities, and social media. This role requires a strategic communicator with expert writing skills, the ability to craft compelling narratives tailored by media channel, and build and maintain media relationships. This also requires a clear understanding of PitchBook’s company mission, vision, and values to effectively translate key messaging priorities through our executives using engaging storytelling tactics. The successful candidate will be a strategic, high-judgement, and opportunistic professional who can work across teams to tell compelling stories about our business through our executives.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

\n\nDevelop and lead public relations, external communications, and social media strategies and tactics for PitchBook’s executive leadership team. This involves partnering with the executive team to craft compelling thought leadership narratives, a strategic content calendar, and developing a consistent tone, voice, and style for all executive external communications\nCreate engaging pitches for the media and acquire positive media hits by identifying key themes, topics, and opportunities relevant to each executive\nPrepare the executives for interviews and lead media inquiries related to the executives’ subject matter expertise and content strategy\nDevelop and lead select executives’ social media presence, including content strategy and calendar as well as crafting and posting content that reflects the executives’ voice and thought leadership\nExpert writing/storytelling, executive presence and acumen, and ability to swiftly capture the voice of our key leaders to write on their behalf\nDraft a variety of PR and communications materials, including, but not limited to, press materials, messaging, press releases/advisories, media relations pitches, media lists, media backgrounders, contributed articles, op-eds, blog posts, and social media content\nDevelop targeted media lists and relevant pitches for breaking news, trending news, and engaging stories and research for PitchBook’s executives\nCultivate strong relationships with top-tier national and niche media and bloggers/influencers\nMonitor and maintain award opportunities relevant to executives’ leadership narratives and subject matter expertise\nIdentify, secure, and manage speaking opportunities at select top-tier industry conferences. Ensure messaging alignment with corporate objectives and strategic priorities\nMonitor daily news utilizing media monitoring services\nManage ongoing reporting and analysis for executive PR-related deliverables\nAssist with day-to-day management of PR, communications, and content strategies\nWork collaboratively with the global communications team and across departments to develop and ensure activities are aligned with the organization's strategic focus and business priorities\nSupport the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors\nParticipate in various company initiatives and projects as requested\n\n

Skills and Qualifications:

\n\n3+ years of experience in corporate communications or public relations role; enterprise software experience preferred\nBachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, and Communications\nExcellent written and verbal communications skills\nExperience working directly with media and maintaining relationships over time\nAbility to drive progress and earn trust while working across multiple teams\nCreative and entrepreneurial thinking\nSolid judgment, particularly in narrow time frames\nAbility to multitask and prioritize\nAbility to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment\nExperience presenting to and interacting with press, industry analysts, executive leaders, and other internal and external stakeholders\nFamiliarity with multiple communications disciplines, including internal communications, social media, and media relations\nStrong team ethic and collaborative work style, but must be able to work independently, assume responsibility, and be accountable\nExperience providing media training and feedback to spokespeople preferred, but not required\n\n

Compensation

\n\nAnnual base salary: $80,000-$95,000\nTarget annual bonus percentage: 10%\n\n

*Starting pay will be based on several factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be different ranges for candidates by location. 

\n

Working Conditions:

\n

We believe our business and our culture are strongest when we work together in person. We also know that it’s helpful to have some flexibility to work remotely. Most roles work in the office 3+ days/week, and some are expected to work in the office 4-5 days/week. The current expectation for this role is that you are working in the office 3+ days/week and that you are in the office full-time during the training period, for which the length varies by role. During an initial phone screen, the team will discuss expectations for this specific position.

The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
