Practice Specialist I Bilingual

Job Description:

A Practice Specialist is responsible for handling inquiries via email, voicemail, messages and work queues, assisting patients and internal customers with billing inquiries, complaints, and requests. The role involves utilizing overall knowledge of the Revenue Service Center to provide accurate information, resolve complex issues, and ensure patient satisfaction. Key skills include excellent written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

This is a 100% remote position however, currently we are unable to consider candidates for remote opportunities in the following states: California, Hawaii, Illinois, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Connecticut and Washington.

Schedule - Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:30 AM - 5 PM

Establishes credibility and rapport through consistent follow-up and communication with PBRS’s and Practice Managers.Researches and resolves operational issues reported by PBRS’s and Practice Managers, setting appropriate expectations for resolution.Triages from voicemail, email and work queue(s). Update and escalate issues utilizing CRMs as a tracking tool.Reviews performance data to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement for both practices and the RSC.Responds to and research care sites' escalated complaints, interfacing with patients, RSC, and care site caregivers to ensure resolutionAssist in developing standards and procedures to be implemented by the Specialty TeamParticipate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned. Promotes mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health, and abides by service behavior standards

Minimum Qualifications

Required: High School Diploma or GEDRequired: Two (2) Years of experience in customer service, collections, or call center environmentRequired: Knowledge of EPICRequired: Knowledge of general medical billing, insurance and compliance regulations and billing processes

Preferred Qualifications

Required: High School Diploma or GEDThree (3) Years of experience in a client service or billing healthcare environment required. Required: Knowledge of EPICRequired: Knowledge of general medical billing, insurance and compliance regulations and billing processesBilingual Spanish speaking

Physical Requirements:

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies and able to assess customer needs.Ongoing interactions with customers that require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information and address issues quickly and accurately.Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes computer, phone and internet set up and use.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$21.20 - $32.26
